Margin (Tianya) Zheng
Haverford College Student
Margin (Tianya) Zheng is a Class of 2023 student at Haverford College. Double-majoring in music and mathematics, they engage with personal narrative and social-political issues through music composition and interdisciplinary performance, and they dream of educating others about maths as a part of human culture. A former board member and president of the National Youth Rights Association, Margin has advocated for an intersectional, liberation-focused approach to issues that especially impact young people, such as educational rights and the climate crisis. They exist in a subtle, nuanced, quivering intersection of marginalized identities and continue to inquire into and learn to hold their simultaneously fierce and fearful neuroqueer self. Margin grew up in the Greater Philadelphia region on Lenape lands, and they are a child of Han Chinese immigrants.
